After rigorous preliminary selection and professional defense, JD Energy’s PTG Low-Voltage Cascaded Energy Storage Technology stood out and won the "2025 Top 10 Model Cases of Energy Storage Technological Innovation" at the 9th International Energy Storage Innovation Competition. This authoritative award marks that JD Energy continues to lead the technological innovation trend in the energy storage industry.
Zhao Xiaobin, Technical Director of JD Energy, shared:The PTG low-voltage cascaded energy storage technology adopts a cascaded energy storage converter with low-voltage MOS parallel connection, sharing the cooling system of the battery PACK. This effectively improves system reliability, reduces the number of power conversions, and significantly enhances system efficiency. Meanwhile, the 25-level design greatly reduces harmonic content compared with the traditional 3-level topology, with THD ≤ 2.75%. In addition, it adopts full-power balancing at the PACK level, achieving system balance in an ultra-fast 60 seconds. In terms of system design, the DC voltage is reduced from 1,500V to 150V, effectively lowering insulation design difficulty, improving safety, and further cutting system costs.
The technology has achieved qualitative breakthroughs in efficiency, battery utilization, system safety, grid adaptability, and battery balancing capability. So far, it has been granted 7 invention patents and 3 utility model patents.
