Benchmark Case of Qidian Energy No.7: Jinxi New Energy 60MW/120MWh User-Side Energy Storage Project

2025-02-07
The Jinxi New Energy 60MW/120MWh user-side energy storage project is located in Tangshan City, Hebei Province. It is the largest user-side distributed modular energy storage project in North China. Meanwhile, it marks Qidian Energy’s first 100MWh-level user-side energy storage project, setting a new record for the maximum capacity of a single user-side energy storage project.

The project adopts Qidian’s distributed modular smart energy storage system solution, deploying a total of 288 sets of eBlock-418 products. It consists of 10 square arrays, with each array equipped with 28 or 29 units of eBlock-418 plus one integrated step-up transformer.

The project mainly serves Jinxi Iron and Steel Group. As a traditional iron and steel enterprise, it has enormous power demand and high power load, bringing great peak-shaving pressure to the power grid. It is in urgent need of energy storage configuration to address practical difficulties. The project will significantly enhance the flexible dispatching capability of the regional power grid, ensure stable power supply, and thereby guarantee the continuity and stability of production.

The project adopts a daily two-charge and two-discharge operation strategy, with an average annual electricity discharge of approximately 62.5 million kWh. Calculated over a 10-year operation period, the cumulative discharged electricity will reach about 625 million kWh, with a cumulative revenue of around 330 million yuan. Currently in the trial operation phase, the project will greatly reduce the enterprise’s electricity cost and help lower expenses while improving efficiency. It will also effectively promote the consumption and utilization of renewable clean energy, cut carbon emissions, and play a prominent role in advancing the green transformation of the old industrial city and boosting ecological civilization construction.

The Jinxi New Energy 60MW/120MWh user-side energy storage project represents Qidian Energy’s first cooperation with the iron and steel industry. It is a successful practice of energy storage empowering the green transformation of high-energy-consuming industries and an important achievement in the industrial upgrading of this century-old industrial city. It will surely become a benchmark model for user-side energy storage in Tangshan, Hebei. Looking ahead, Qidian Energy will take energy storage as the fulcrum to drive cross-border integration and coordinated development between new energy storage and more industries, injecting strong new momentum into regional industrial upgrading and corporate green transformation.
