Energy Storage + Home Appliances: Qidian Energy Infuses Green Momentum into TCL

2025-02-19
What kind of vivid picture will the integration of energy storage and home appliances present?Recently, the 10.044MW/20.088MWh energy storage project of TCL Home Appliances (Hefei) Co., Ltd. in Anhui has successfully passed the acceptance inspection of State Grid. With robust product strength and outstanding service capability, it has won high praise from the customer. The project enables Qidian Energy to explore a brand-new application scenario of Energy Storage + Home Appliances, helping the well-known home appliance brand TCL embark on a new chapter of green development.

TCL is a household home appliance brand that has maintained strong popularity in the global market in recent years, with its products sold in more than 100 countries worldwide. In the TCL Home Appliance Industrial Park in Hefei, Anhui, one washing machine rolls off the production line every 8 seconds. With the continuous growth of production capacity, the enterprise’s power demand has been increasing day by day.

It is understood that TCL Home Appliances consumes 7,000 kWh of electricity per hour on average and 160,000 kWh per day. As the production lines operate 24 hours a day, power outages or unstable voltage quality will lead to raw material waste and cause substantial economic losses to the enterprise. Therefore, energy storage has become the optimal solution to ensure stable power supply and help enterprises reduce costs and improve efficiency.

The 10.044MW/20.088MWh energy storage project of TCL Home Appliances (Hefei) Co., Ltd. ranks among the top user-side energy storage projects in Anhui in terms of installed capacity. Adopting Qidian’s distributed modular smart energy storage system solution, the project is equipped with primary frequency regulation function. A total of 54 sets of eBlock-372 products are deployed in the project, divided into two major arrays of 5.022MW/10.044MWh each, with a total capacity of 10.044MW/20.088MWh.

The system efficiency of the project is about 87.5%, with a daily charging volume of approximately 42,900 kWh and an annual charging volume of about 11.208 million kWh in the first year; its daily discharging volume is around 37,500 kWh, with an annual discharging volume of about 9.797 million kWh in the first year. The estimated total revenue from peak shaving and valley filling in the first year will reach 5.5 million yuan, delivering remarkable economic benefits. In addition, the project is equipped with a complete scheduling system to meet the real-time scheduling requirements of State Grid and further increase user returns, which is of pivotal significance for promoting the development of local industrial and commercial energy storage.

After operation, the project helps optimize TCL’s power consumption structure, relieve load pressure during peak power consumption periods, and guarantee the stability and continuity of production. Meanwhile, through peak shaving and valley filling, it reduces TCL’s electricity cost, helps the enterprise cut costs and boost efficiency, accelerates its green transformation, and injects sustained green momentum into corporate development.

The model of Energy Storage + Home Appliances represents the cross-border integration of new energy storage and intelligent manufacturing, as well as a successful practice of Qidian Energy in user-side energy storage application. It will set an exemplary benchmark, guide the manufacturing industry to launch green transformation, and accelerate the pace toward green and sustainable development.
