Polaris Award Announced: JDEnergy Recognized for a Benchmark Source-Grid-Load-Storage Integration Project

Oct 21, 2026
On October 21, the 2026 Third Conference on the Integrated Development of Source-Grid-Load-Storage Systems and High-Quality Direct Green Power Supply was held in Jinan. At the event, the results of the 2026 Polaris Award for Influential Enterprises in Source-Grid-Load-Storage Integration were officially announced. The Yanchi Hanjun 150MW/600MWh Source-Grid-Load-Storage Coordination Project, delivered by JDEnergy, won the “Benchmark Project in Source-Grid-Load-Storage Integration” award, adding another accolade to JDEnergy's achievements.

Located in Yanchi County, Wuzhong City, Ningxia, the Yanchi Hanjun 150MW/600MWh Energy Storage Project features 30 liquid-cooled energy storage units, each rated at 5MW/20MWh, with a total of 120 JDEnergy string-based prefabricated energy storage enclosures, Galaxy-1, commissioned and operational.

As a region rich in renewable energy resources, Ningxia is experiencing growing demand for peak shaving and frequency regulation across its power grid. The high penetration of renewable energy has placed greater demands on the flexibility and reliability of energy storage systems. By smoothing fluctuations in renewable power output, the project effectively improves the region's capacity to integrate green electricity and strongly supports the large-scale development of clean energy sources, including wind and solar power.

The project can also participate in spot electricity trading, medium- and long-term electricity trading, and ancillary frequency regulation services. With an overall system conversion efficiency of 88%, it provides the grid with real-time, reliable power support.
From an economic perspective, the project's operational performance has been impressive, generating approximately RMB 6 million in monthly revenue and RMB 72 million annually, with annual discharged energy expected to exceed 150 million kWh. It offers a practical reference for exploring commercial operating models for large-scale energy storage projects.

Behind this benchmark project lies years of technological accumulation and engineering experience. JDEnergy currently has six operational energy storage projects in Ningxia, with a combined capacity exceeding 2GWh. Their operational stability and revenue performance rank among the leading projects commissioned in the region during the same period.
Nationwide, as of the end of 2025, JDEnergy's cumulative installed capacity had exceeded 10GWh, with more than 2,000 projects delivered.

As one of China's earliest providers of string-based energy storage systems, JDEnergy continues to deepen its focus on source- and grid-side energy storage. Supported by operational results from one 100MWh-class project after another, the string-based technology approach is becoming an important technical option for source- and grid-side energy storage applications.

This award represents industry recognition of the demonstrative value of the Yanchi Hanjun Project. Looking ahead, JDEnergy will continue to drive progress through technological innovation, further unlock the value of string-based energy storage in source- and grid-side applications, and work alongside industry partners to advance the development of the new power system and contribute to the high-quality development of clean energy.
