Webinar | Focusing on the Value of String-Based Energy Storage to Support the Development of Spain’s Energy Storage Market
On September 14, JDEnergy successfully hosted an online webinar focused on Spain’s energy storage market, bringing together JDEnergy’s technical team, its local sales team in Spain, and local partner WDenergia. The event focused on battery energy storage system (BESS) technologies and solutions, project deployment practices, and regional market development, providing practical insights and exchanging perspectives on the latest industry trends.

The webinar, themed “Future-Ready Energy Storage: Powering Spain’s Energy Transition with String-Based Architecture,” explored JDEnergy’s string-based architecture and its applications in grid-scale and C&I energy storage projects.
One of the key topics discussed was the impact of energy storage system architecture on project performance throughout the entire lifecycle. Compared with traditional centralized architectures, JDEnergy’s string-based architecture enables independent control at the battery-cluster level and eliminates DC-side parallel connections. Each battery cluster can charge and discharge independently according to its own operating conditions, helping increase system usable capacity while improving fault isolation, system availability, and operational flexibility. From a full-lifecycle perspective, refined battery management can reduce the impact of differences in degradation among battery clusters, maintain higher energy utilization, and support stable long-term system operation.

From technical architecture to engineering applications, JDEnergy highlighted its modular energy storage product eBlock-418A during the webinar. Designed for grid-scale and large C&I applications, the product adopts JDEnergy’s string-based architecture. Its AC-side architecture supports flexible capacity expansion according to project requirements and provides grid-forming capabilities, enabling the system to actively establish and regulate voltage and frequency within its operating range. To date, eBlock-418A has been deployed across multiple overseas markets, including Hungary, Germany, Italy, and Japan, accumulating project-validated operational experience under diverse grid conditions and across a range of application scenarios.

Building on its established overseas project experience, JDEnergy is accelerating the expansion of its presence in the Spanish energy storage market through deeper cooperation with WDenergia. The two parties have signed an annual framework agreement for 200 MWh of energy storage projects. JDEnergy will combine its energy storage technologies and project experience with WDenergia’s localized capabilities in project development, EPC, and equipment supply to jointly explore opportunities in Spain’s C&I energy storage market.
As Spain continues to accelerate the deployment of renewable energy, the power system is facing growing demand for flexible resources. JDEnergy will leverage its mature energy storage technologies and accumulated overseas project experience to further develop the Spanish market, work closely with local partners, and promote the large-scale deployment of highly reliable, flexible, and efficient energy storage systems.
