Witness the Splendid Milestone! JDEnergy Supports Guangdong’s Largest User-side Energy Storage Project to Successful Commissioning
Shouldering missions and exploring a low-carbon future. Recently, the Chiwan Energy Storage Demonstration Project, invested by Zhongkai New Energy and delivered by JDEnergy, has been successfully commissioned. With a total installed capacity of 14.88MW/59.60MWh, it is the largest single distributed modular user-side energy storage project in Guangdong Province to date, as well as the first energy storage project of China Nanshan Group. Upon commissioning, the project will stand as one of the benchmark projects for industrial and commercial green transformation in Guangdong Province and nationwide.
To celebrate this important milestone, the project commissioning ribbon-cutting ceremony was grandly held on March 6, 2024. PART.01 Joining Hands with Central Enterprises to Boost Green Transition
Amid festive drumbeats and lively dragon and lion dances, the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the commissioning of the Chiwan Energy Storage Demonstration Project officially kicked off in a joyful atmosphere. Shu Qian, Member of the Party Committee of China Nanshan Group, General Manager of Nanshan Holdings and Chairman of China Nuclear Energy Technology, delivered the opening address. He stated that developing new energy business is a vital initiative for China Nanshan Group to implement the national Dual Carbon Strategy, vigorously explore new business tracks and unlock new growth space. In the current and forthcoming period, China Nanshan will actively push forward strategic transformation and continuously write a new chapter of high-quality development in the new era.
Zhang Lei, Executive Director & General Manager of Zhongkai New Energy, mentioned in his speech that as the core investment platform for industrial and commercial energy storage under China Nanshan Group, Zhongkai New Energy took the lead in investing and constructing this largest modular industrial and commercial energy storage power station within the province in the Chiwan area. During construction, through joint efforts with partners JDEnergy and PowerChina East China Electric Power Design Institute, the whole cycle from construction launch to commissioning took merely 35 days, setting a construction miracle for large-scale industrial and commercial energy storage power stations.
Liu Weizeng, Founder and Chairman of JDEnergy, was invited to deliver an address. Driven jointly by the Dual Carbon Goals and energy security demands, China’s new energy industry has entered an accelerating upward phase, bringing unprecedented opportunities to the energy storage sector. Shouldering the mission of the times, JDEnergy has deeply cultivated the distributed energy storage sector to facilitate social low-carbon transition. The grid connection and commissioning of the Chiwan Energy Storage Demonstration Project will achieve a win-win outcome of economic and social benefits and provide another practical application model for industrial and commercial energy storage.

From construction commencement to grid-connected commissioning, JDEnergy completed the whole process within only 35 days, achieving industry-leading delivery efficiency.
During project construction, JDEnergy’s delivery team leveraged rich practical experience and solid technical capabilities. United and highly coordinated, the team upheld its consistent iron-army spirit to fully guarantee targets including equipment supply, engineering quality and construction schedule. Finally, the project achieved high-standard construction and high-level delivery, once again demonstrating the JDEnergy Speed.
In the future, supported by Guangdong’s time-of-use electricity price policy, this project will help enterprises cut power costs. It can also serve as a backup power source for production, providing power on demand to guarantee stable manufacturing operations. Meanwhile, it supports enterprises in energy conservation, carbon reduction and green transformation.
PART.03 Technology Empowerment Builds an Industry Benchmark
As another landmark project of JDEnergy, the project boasts a scale of 14.88MW/59.60MWh with 10kV high-voltage grid access. Divided into four arrays and adopting independent energy storage module technology, the project deploys a total of 80 sets of eBlock-745 products. After grid connection, the project is expected to deliver around 20 million kWh of electricity annually for peak shaving and valley filling.
Furthermore, the construction of this project helps build a low-carbon ecosystem, ease the contradiction between power supply and demand, provide stable power support for the entire Chiwan region, and promote the consumption and optimized allocation of renewable energy, thereby realizing mutually beneficial economic and social returns.
