Rising in the East | JDEnergy’s First 100MWh Independent Shared Energy Storage Project in Shandong Successfully Connected to Grid

Recently, the Dongying Jinhui 100MW/200MWh independent shared energy storage project by JDEnergy has been successfully connected to the grid and put into operation. Invested and constructed by Dongying Energy Group Co., Ltd., the project adopts 479 sets of eBlock418 products supplied by JDEnergy, forming a total of 24 arrays.

The Dongying Jinhui 100MW/200MWh independent shared energy storage project is a national pilot and demonstration project for new energy storage. Boasting a total planned capacity of 1GWh, it stands as the largest single electrochemical independent energy storage power station nationwide. Its successful grid connection will serve as an important demonstration for the energy storage industry, drive overall industrial progress, and boost the innovation and application of energy storage technologies.
 
The grid connection of this project marks another successful cooperation between JDEnergy and state-owned enterprises, and demonstrates once again that JDEnergy’s energy storage technologies have gained recognition from central and local state-owned enterprises. As a leader in distributed energy storage, the commissioning of this project sets another typical benchmark for the distributed energy storage sector.
 

02 Strategic Expansion to Consolidate the Engine of Scientific Research and Innovation

 
The Dongying Jinhui 100MW/200MWh independent shared energy storage project is JDEnergy’s first 100MWh-level independent shared energy storage project in Shandong. It represents a vital milestone in JDEnergy’s strategic layout and helps elevate the brand visibility of the company in Shandong and surrounding markets.
 
Shandong Province is one of China’s economically dynamic regions with substantial energy demand. The implementation of JDEnergy’s first 100MWh energy storage project in Shandong will further raise brand awareness and strengthen market influence across Shandong and adjacent areas.
 
 
For this project, JDEnergy deployed the first batch of upgraded eBlock418 products as energy storage equipment, marking the debut application of eBlock418 in large-scale energy storage projects. The successful grid connection fully validates the technical strengths of the eBlock418.
 
It is reported that the eBlock418 adopts upgraded battery cells. Within the original dimensions, the 280Ah cells are replaced with 314Ah cells. Calculations show that the battery energy density increases by 12%, supporting costs drop by 10%, auxiliary power consumption loss reduces by 5%, and LCOS falls by 5%. Meanwhile, eBlock418 features multiple merits including outstanding safety, high economic efficiency, grid-friendly performance and intelligent operation & maintenance.
 
After commissioning, the Dongying Jinhui 100MW/200MWh independent shared energy storage project will facilitate large-scale consumption of renewable energy, enhance grid stability and optimize power system operation.
