White Paper on Commercial & Industrial Energy Storage Solutions Released with Great Fanfare

Driven by the dual carbon strategy, the installed capacity of variable renewable energy sources worldwide has grown rapidly. However, their volatility and instability have brought tremendous impacts and challenges to the traditional power system. As a vital component for easing pressure on power grids, commercial and industrial (C&I) energy storage has gradually scaled up under policies such as time-of-use electricity tariffs and mandatory energy storage allocation for distributed photovoltaics. Against this backdrop, JDEnergy collaborated with TÜV Rheinland and China Coal Tianjin Design Institute to compile the White Paper on Commercial & Industrial Energy Storage Solutions based on extensive operational experience of C&I energy storage power stations, hoping to share achievements with industry peers and jointly explore new development paths for C&I energy storage solutions. On April 11, the opening day of the 12th International Energy Storage Summit & Exhibition (ESIE2024), the white paper was officially launched in Beijing.
 
At 15:00 on the same day, the launch ceremony kicked off with a keynote speech Analysis on Safety Technical Requirements of Energy Storage Systems delivered by Deng Shanfeng, Business Development Manager of TÜV Rheinland. As an independent international third-party testing, inspection and certification body, TÜV Rheinland safeguards the quality and safety of the entire energy storage industrial chain. Deng Shanfeng stated that the global energy storage market scale is projected to reach 330 GWh by 2030, with China accounting for nearly 50% of the total market, representing promising prospects. Meanwhile, safety standards and management specifications for electrochemical energy storage still need further improvement. He elaborated on key safety risks existing in energy storage systems and proposed measures to enhance the safety and reliability of such systems.
 
Dong Xiaoqing, Dean of the New Energy Institute of China Coal Tianjin Design Corporation, delivered an insightful speech entitled Energy Storage Technology Routes and Case Analysis. He pointed out that electrochemical energy storage technology routes mainly fall into three categories: centralized, distributed-centralized and distributed. By comparison, distributed solutions based on small cabinets break the constraints of application scenarios, support flexible capacity expansion to resolve power supplementation demands, and achieve new breakthroughs in system efficiency. Analysis of practical cases proves that JDEnergy’s distributed intelligent energy block energy storage system solutions hold prominent advantages.
